Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

This cause-and-effect dilemma relates to the issues of circular references. According to ancient philosophers, the question of primacy further led to the question of the origin and order of the universe.

I don't know what the answer to this metaphorical question is, but I'm sure about one thing. To make a soft-boiled egg, it is needed egg!
